Bradford, UK — 22 April 2026 — Odyssey Media House collaborated with Tobi Olorunmakomi to deliver Expression in Redemption, an immersive creative experience held at Below One, University of Bradford. The event brought together participants for an evening centred on creativity, healing, and self-expression.
Hosted by Tobi Olorunmakomi, Expression in Redemption explored the relationship between creative expression and emotional restoration, fostering an intimate, reflective environment for attendees from diverse backgrounds.
“Expression in Redemption is rooted in the belief that not everything can be expressed in words,” said Tobi Olorunmakomi, convener of the experience. “This gathering invites participants to explore their inner world through colour, texture, and form, giving voice to what has long been held in silence. This is not about artistic skill or perfection. It is about the unseen journey.”
The evening was structured around three core themes: reflection, release, and expression, which guided the flow of the session. Participants were welcomed into a calm, well-lit space with canvases, paint, and brushes prepared, encouraging presence without pressure. Many attendees had no prior experience with painting, yet fully engaged in the process.
Grace Oladoke, a healthcare professional and life coach, facilitated key reflections during the session. “Fear often stops us from doing what we ought to do,” she shared. “But we must take steps despite fear.” Her words reinforced the atmosphere of openness and exploration throughout the session.
During the sharing segment, participants reflected on their work and personal experiences. Zee returned to painting after several years, reconnecting with a part of herself she had set aside. Nire’s piece illustrated the transition from winter to spring, symbolising growth emerging from difficulty. Ola’s artwork depicted open hands, representing a love that remains present and unwavering. Each story added depth to the collective experience.
The session concluded with an encouragement for participants to carry the practice of reflection and self-expression beyond the event and into their daily lives.
The campaign for the event was led by GbolaJesu Amusa, ensuring the experience reached its intended audience. Odyssey Media House also acknowledges the support of its partners, the Nigerian Students Society Bradford, the Nigerian Community Association Bradford, and UBU, whose contributions were instrumental to the event’s success.
Expression in Redemption created a space for reflection, creativity, and shared human experience, leaving a lasting impact on attendees.
